Emotions run high in most family law cases and she strives to provide her clients with both thoughtful and realistic strategy and short term and long term goals.

Emily prides herself on developing creative settlement options to craft arrangements that honor their new family dynamic. When settlement is not possible, her prowess in the Courtroom already far exceeds her years of practice as she uses her vast legal knowledge and considerable trial skills to obtain positive results for her clients. Emily is a certified mediator and mediates both general civil cases and family law cases. Having mediated numerous cases, she understands the dynamics and strategies involved in negotiation and alternative dispute resolution. Emily provides creative resolutions and cost-benefit analyses to various problems and issues, which have proven invaluable to her clients.

In addition to being a litigator, Emily also serves as a Guardian Ad Litem in contested custody cases. Having focused her studies on child development and understanding the factors that the Court must use to determine custody and parenting time, Emily conducts investigations and makes a recommendation regarding custodial arrangements that are in the best interests of the minor children. Her training, education, and experience is applied as a Guardian Ad Litem in her clients’ contested custody cases.

Emily obtained her undergraduate degree at Columbia University, with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a focus on child development, before obtaining her law degree from Emory University School of Law. During her time at Emory University School of Law, she coordinated Emory University School of Law’s Kessler-Eidson Trial Techniques Program and held a number of leadership roles in Emory’s Mock Trial and Moot Court programs. helping Emory University to earn additional national championships as she focused on litigation and oral advocacy.

Emily is active in the Atlanta legal community; she is the Editor-in-Chief of the Atlanta Bar Family Law Section Newsletter, and she serves as a volunteer attorney on Domestic Violence and Guardian cases. In addition to her volunteer work with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, she regularly lectures for John Marshall Law School and Georgia State Law School for their mediation training programs. She has also lectured for judges in judicial continuing education classes as well as for the State Bar of Georgia.

In her free time, Emily volunteers for her neighborhood association and enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and Shih-tzu puppy. Her hobbies include fitness activities, such as running, lifting, triathlons, and Pure Barre.
